An Introduction to T-Shirts

T-Shirts where originally developed from the popular underwear garment, from the early 19th century. It is said, that during World War 1 American soldiers noticed that the European army's used a cotton based undergarment, this was found to be much more comfortable then the woollen ones used at the time. This formed the basis of the T-Shirt.

Styles & Trends

T-Shirts come in many different style and colours, these include: Long Sleeve, Short Sleeve, Contrast, Sleeveless, ¾ Sleeve and Organic.
All these styles can come in a host of colours and neck trends. V-neck, Crew neck are the most popular and often the colour choice is staggering.

Short Sleeve:: A simple Tee with short sleeves that come just above the elbow.

Long Sleeve: A simple Tee with long sleeve down to the wrist.

Contrast Styles: Typically a long sleeve Tee, with the body one colour and both sleeves a different colour, also known as a Baseball Tee.

Sleeveless: A T-shirt with no sleeves and an open neck style, very popular in the summer, and for fitness activities.

¾ Sleeve: Much the same as long/short sleeve. The sleeves come to just above the wrist.

Organic: Made from 100% organic materials.

Style can also be determined by the weight, Value, Heavy and mid weight are all popular. Heavy weight tends to be more suitable for the workplace as they are very hardwearing.

Leisure T-shirts are not limited to leisure activities, they have found a place in many a company as corporate clothing.
